FAQs
While the exact cause of endometriosis is still debated, and there are no definitive predictors of who will develop the condition, certain risk factors have been associated with adolescent endometriosis.
How do I know if I am a candidate for surgery at your Hoboken office?
If you suffer from symptoms like debilitating period pain, chronic pelvic pain, or if you have been struggling with infertility, a consultation is the first step.
What are the most common symptoms of endometriosis?
The most common symptoms are severe menstrual cramps, chronic pelvic pain, and pain during intercourse, bowel movements, or urination. Many people also experience heavy bleeding, significant bloating (known as “endo belly”), chronic fatigue, and infertility.
Why should I see an endometriosis specialist instead of my regular GYN?
While a regular GYN can manage mild symptoms, they often lack the advanced training for complex endometriosis surgery, one of the most difficult gynecological procedures. An endometriosis specialist performs meticulous excision surgery to remove the disease at its root, offering a more effective, long-term solution than the ablation procedure commonly performed by generalists.
